Veterans applying for transfers from their current post to our post (179) must submit the following:
a. Completed Member Data Form
Submit hard copies to American Legion Post 179, 410 W. Coll Street., New Braunfels, TX 78130 with current years dues (if not paid), or next year's membership dues; or you may submit all documents via email to ALPost179Adjutant@Gmail.Com and either drop off your payment or mail it in.
Membership eligibility in the American Legion is based on honorable service with the U. S. Armed Forces between April 6, 1917 - November 11, 1918 (World War I) and December 7, 1941 to Present.
Eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to Post 179 Membership Committee:
1. Complete American Legion Membership application. Print two (2) completed copies, keeping a copy for your records. Mail the other copy to 410 W. Coll St., New Braunfels, TX 78130 together with your dues payment as shown on your application.
2. Include a copy of your DD Form 214 or discharge orders.
3. Membership Dues Payment as shown on application - Make checks payable to American Legion Post 179. DO NOT send cash.
Upon verification of your information, your membership will be approved, and a membership card will be mailed to you.
